The Big Sexy "may" have made a mistake. "Gail" is the name of a friend's father who grew up in Pulaski County, Kentucky (Somerset). The proper spelling may in fact be "Gale." [img]wink.gif[/img]

The Big Sexy isn't quite sure what gae has against the free market economy, where a retailer tries to appeal to the greatest number of consumers possible.
For example, when Macy's advertises "holiday attire," should that be limited to just Christmas? Maybe gae can wear that dress for her big New Year's bash. Or when she goes to her friend's Chanukah gathering. Or the neighborhood Kwaanza celebration. Or when the lesbians across the street invite her over to celebrate the winter solstice.
And other than Kwanza, which is a pseudo holiday made up by a criminal, I really don't care what people celebrate or when. My problem is the EXCLUSION of Christmas.
For instance, WND confirmed that when using Wal-Mart's online search engine, if the word "Hanukkah" is entered, 200 items for sale are returned. The term "Kwanzaa" yields 77. But when "Christmas" is entered, the message returned says: "We've brought you to our 'Holiday' page based on your search."
Let's forget that the majority of people in this country describe themselves as "Christian". Let's also forget that for most people Christmas is a secular holiday rather than a religious one. The point is that the retailers are kowtowing to the demands of a bunch of whiny Muslims who've come here because this is the land of opportunity and are now demanding that we embrace their culture and morés.
They can have their culture; I don't care. But not at the exclusion of the rest of us.

Unlike Kwaanzaaaaa and Chanukah, Christmas has been secularlized, and taken over by nonbelievers. Which I guess means things have come full circle, given the early Church coopted pagan holidays by placing Christian ones alongside them.
So what's the problem?
